OE5QL - Austrian experimental beacon

Peter, OE5MPL, is happy to announce that a 4 m beacon with the call OE5QL is QRV 24 hours a day.

Transmission is only two minutes per sequence. Each sequence begins at full hour +00 min., +15 min., +30 min. and +45 min, e.g. 00:00-00:02, 00:15-00:17, 00:30-00:32 and 00:45-00:47.

The beacon

Power is 1 W ERP the first minute of each sequence and 5 W ERP the second minute of each sequence.

The beacon frequency is 70,045 MHz, location for the beacon JN78CJ, 860 mASL and the antenna is a Half-Wave Vertical with Collins Filter design DK7ZB/OZ2M.

Please take every opportunity to spot the beacon if you hear it. It is vital to show interest for an OE signal on 4 m as this will help for 24 hours transmission and also to get Austrian hams on 4 m.
