Frequency set.

Don't be afraid to ask any questions pertaining to the 4 m band...

Frequency set.

Hi to all.

Few weeks ago I've successfully converted an ex PMR rig. Say - I can program nearly "unlimited" number of channels without PLL step boundaries. So at the moment I have 12,5khz FM, 5khz FM, 5khz AM, splits for FM (ie rx 70.450 tx 70.400 and vice versa etc) covering the whole 70 mhz band. Any suggestions what other kind of frequencies / special modes would make sense? (I've already set 69.950. 69.990 for monitor purposes in AM mode, also 70.350 FM + CTCSS 88,5 for Irish gateway) ?
Resistance is futile.

Yes I do that too. Must add 990 as I already have 950.

I heard an LA station on CW on my handheld which stopped at 70.275 (I think). As that was my first LA it was memorable for that even if I cannot recall the exact frequency. The Norwegian and Finnish allocations are easy to add to the scanner. You probably have them in already.

Hi. Yes, I have already full 70.000-70.500 in plus some odd frequencies. Was just wondering if there is any more 69.*** and the likes and what other usable conjunctions of 70mhz band can be of use (CTCSS, splits, calling channels / voice centers of activity / gateways / club nets). I can use alphanumeric names, so it would be nice to get most popular frequency with appropriate name on it. Say 70.260 can be plain "70.260 AM" as well as "4m AM calling".
Resistance is futile.

The first rig I had came with one frequency - 70.26 - and no scope to fit anything else. Everyone in Ireland then used the same frequency as me, and in Britain too.

I thought it was just great.
