QRV

Hi All
I spent today building a 7 ele PowAbeam - it was supposed to be a customer order but I 'allocated it for demonstation use' ;). It is in the garden at 2m agl atm this evening just to check before going up on the mast at about 7 metres tomorrow.
The RN transverter is working with the K3 now I have figured out input drive levels an the separate tx/rx paths (my RN transverter has separate rx and tx leads and was configured for the TS940S before (which I still have)). I couldn't remember what the input drive requirements were for it but a little experimentation put it at about 100mW for 20W out. On the K3 this means tx is out through the HF SO239 as the transverter drive will only produce 1.5mW. The separate Rx path was a problem until I read and reread the K3 manual and configured it to use the separate RX Ant-In socket. Sorted!
So we are basically QRV with about 20W as of tomorrow.
Takeoff from this QTH is fine to the West through North to ESE but South is not good at all. We aer 200m asl but the hill immediately to the south is 450m. On 2m it means MS/EME only in that direction.
I am QRV SSB/CW and data using WSJT and PSK2k through a Signalink from the PC.
I look forward to starting a nice new squares and countries hunt again on this wonderful band.
I just have to remember how I tuned the input/output on the 3cX800 amp now.... ;)
73 all.
