Finally ! CT1HZE in the VE9AA 4m X-band logbook

Postby VE9AA » Sat 23 Jul 2011, 20:41

Finally, after years of trying I worked Joe 4m>6m today.
Rig my side today, Kenwood TR-751a 2m rig, Spectrum RX converter
and 6el (ve3bfm/Mapleleafcom.com) yagi.

Joe was running only 20w on 4m, me 600w on 6m, and was actually heard better in W1 than here. He first worked W1JJ, then a while later me, followed a short time later by K1SIX (as he was away for start of opening)

Will soon post youtube video link.

Thanks Joe !!!

Thanks Much 'UWK.

For your audio pleasure.........now, before you listen to it, the front end of the QSO is cut off, and the tail end is cut off. (I'm no camera man), but it does kinda illustrate just how weak he was here.

I would say my camera easily filters 3-6dB, so by ear, he was louder than this video would appear.
