If all you want to spend is £200 then why not get a spectrum, even the basic me4t is alot more than a ready built spectrum.

Just got a quote for the 4m transverter. We can deliver ME4T-PRO from stock.
Actual price is 530 Euro +30 Euro shipping to GM.
Payment by banktransfer shipping by DPD parcel service. I found the price very expensive you could nearly pick up a ft-847 for that. Was hoping that it would maybe £200 or so. Out my price range.

Trevor, I have read some posts (not here) from different people saying that HA transverter is nothing more than an OZ2, and someone was pretty unhappy about this. It was two or three years ago when I came across this discussion, but I remembered it well. None of them transverters had on my table, so cant speak for myself. Thanks to the others (from this forum) now I am updated with the info (read as above).
Resistance is futile.

We're well into the second ES season, since this was first mentioned.
Lots of QSOs missed, lots of firsts missed if anyone has been waiting for it to see the light of day.

Patience is one thing but you'd need the patience of a saint to have waited this long.

Just the QSOs missed over the last few days would have had you banging your head against the wall in frustration.

Cheers

Silence,please !
This is a modern version of "Waiting for Godot".
Especially written for Hams- and very well performed by Fata Morgana !

He, he, Selim. I am VERY patient person, but it seems, it is bigger chance to win EURO LOTTERY, than to see this 50/70MHz all mode miracle. :P

I am afraid it may be Gone with Wind(s) if we all be farthing around waiting instead of some home brewing.

Btw. Michael, recent 4m openings gave us some FM DX. Even Steve managed to make some contacts. I suppose you're doing 100's a day now. I've heard something on 70.200 but AM is not a right mode to copy ha ha !

One thing is for sure.
If it ever sees the light of day it had better have a very good RX spec.
The stations over the last couple of weeks have been so strong a dodgy front end would make it worthless. :D
On 4M some of the SPs, along with TF3ML and OY9JD, have been serious needle benders.

It doesn't sound as if this will see the light of day in time for any of this years ES.
That will be two seasons gone.

Fata Morgana seems about right.

Cheers

Every time I came here to see the advance in the project I found out that the date here is always the 1st of April :D

I think that nobody was waiting for this radio to start the 4m operation/activity, so this is just another time wasting post.

If you are looking for something real and cheap (200 USD) check out the latest (August) issue of the QST magazine. DSP-610 is what you need. Yes it is stated that radio is working on 24/28/50 MHz but at the end of the article it is clearly mentioned that other bands are easy programmed and modified.
So this can be way to go for the first 50/70 MHz radio...
Check out August QST.

Did anything ever come of this?

I've just been contacted by Rob, PE9PE today on a different matter and he mentions a "DualBand MultiMode 50 and 70MHz transceiver
which will be released soon."
