Noise from 10Kv Overhead

Postby G3PTU » Wed 9 Jan 2008, 20:47

Since Christmas I have suffered bad S9+ noise on 4m & 6m.
To cut a long story short, this is the terminal pole on the local 10Kv network. The Rf dept of the local Supply company visited today with their receiver and agreed the problem. The only thing now is when can they can get the supply off to "change the lightening arresters".
Used my noise receiver; a modified version of the "all band receiver" to be found on the Interent to sniff out this source.
If you suffer this sort of problem, may be worth checking this cause out.
