Realised as soon as I posted the question just how silly it was!!!!

The NoV is obviously issued to the guy who holds/runs/manages the licence for the channel, not the users.

Indeed if I were to add up the number of call signs allocated to nodes, internet gateways, voice gateways, DX clusters it would amount to over 90!


I don't think that you can justify counting the voice gateways as digital channels: surely they use analogue NBFM just like the rest of us?
I like to think of them as telephony stations with very long mic leads :wink:

One annoying thing is (In the general area of Doncaster) some people are using AX25 on 70.450!!! I think we are hearing them in Lincoln
