Postby G6TGO » Fri 1 Apr 2011, 10:24

BEACON OFF AIR UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE AS OF 1ST APL 2011.
THIS INCLUDES THE 6M SISTER BEACON ON 50.000MHz
I will try to find out if it is a technical failure or another reason.

Still cannot hear either in Manchester and just put a 70Mhz loop and thought I had made a mistake until checked with an analyser which says the loop ok.
Any other info. on when they may be back yet ?

cheers

Re: GB3BUX

Hi All

The current keeper of GB3BUX rang me back this evening

He hopes to get on its remote site next week to investigate/fix. The
expectations are currently power supply related as both its 50 and 70MHz outputs
are off line (assuming nothing more nasty has happened)

- more in due course

Apart from a patient wait & see - no need to worry at present -

Thanks for the info Murray.

Obviously they are both very strong here but still a useful reference when doing any alterations.

Cheers

Anyway - back on air.

They seem OK here but, at more than 10 over 9, it's difficult to judge. :D

Cheers

Since GB3BUX has come back on it seems a bit down on previous. On my mean S meter it used to be 15db over S9. last evening and today its only just S9.

Great to have it back on. I use it to calibrate my 42mhz xtal in the transverter.
